Process of making:

  • Toast the sliced bagel to your desired level of crispness. You can also air fry it by placing it in the 350°F (175°C) preheated air fryer for 3-5 minutes.
  • Don’t feel shy about spreading the cream cheese nicely and thickly on your bagel. I love to pile a generous spoonful of my homemade cream cheese on top of the bagel. It’s Yum!
  • Take your smoked salmon and artfully lay it down, making sure every inch is perfectly aligned.
  • Top salmon with capers and thin slices of red onion for a delicious blend of salty and tangy flavors.
  • Add fresh dill as a garnish to enhance the flavor and add a touch of freshness.
  • I prefer to pair lemon with salmon in all kinds of recipes. This is optional, but if you want a citrusy touch, try squeezing a wedge of lemon over the top.
  • Black pepper is optional, but you can sprinkle some according to your preference.
  • Serve your dish open-faced or closed by placing the other half of your toasted bagel on top.

Secret about my favorite recipe:

Let me tell you a little secret about my favorite recipe –

Store-bought vs homemade cream cheese:

The quality of the ingredients is what makes it truly special! Take cream cheese, for example. Have you ever tasted homemade cream cheese? Trust me, it’s like biting into a fluffy cloud of creamy goodness. Store-bought cream cheese just doesn’t compare!

Whipped cream cheese:

Whip your cream cheese spread to make it lighter and cloudier. This technique works with any ready-made spread.

Using the frozen Salmon:

To use the store-bought smoked Salmon, thaw the package by leaving it on the counter or under running water for about 10-15 minutes.

Type of Salmon:

Hot-smoked Salmon has a more robust smoky flavor and flakier texture than cold-smoked Salmon, which is silkier and glossy when cut.
